Congenital ichthyosis and epidermolysis bullosa are included in the list of diseases of the «Krug dobra»

Following the 65th meeting of the expert council, the list of diseases was expanded to 115. The list included congenital ichthyosis and epidermolysis bullosa.

Foundation «Krug dobra» supports children with severe life-threatening and chronic diseases, including rare (orphan) ones. On the foundation's website, you can find lists of medicines and medical devices that are purchased to help children.

During the 65th meeting, the list of medical products included several products: barrier skin moisturizers and an elastic bandage.

Barrier products come in two forms – lip lotion and moisturizer.

Lipid lotion according to the instructions for use is used for copious large–scale peeling of the skin, cream - for light peeling of the skin.

The products include a combination of moisturizers and emollients (moisturizing and regenerating substances that create a protective film on the skin's surface and prevent moisture loss), which is very important for ichthyosis.

Congenital ichthyosis is a group of rare genetic diseases of the skin in which the process of its normal keratinization (keratinization) is disrupted. As a result, the skin becomes dry, thickened and covered with dense scales resembling fish scales.

The expected number of patients with congenital ichthyosis is 450-550 people.

An elastic bandage for epidermolysis bullosa is extremely necessary, since with this disease the skin and mucous membranes become extremely fragile and easily injured, forming blisters (bullae) and erosions.

The Russian manufacturer of the products guarantees continuity of supply for more than 400 children with epidermolysis bullosa, who are shown continuous symptomatic therapy with atraumatic bandages.

Epidermolysis bullosa ("butterfly disease") is also a genetic disease, but there is also acquired epidermolysis bullosa. It is not related to heredity, but is an autoimmune disease in which the body itself destroys the structural proteins of the skin.
