
Roszdravnadzor: in 2016 a price increase for VED (vital and essential drugs) fell six-fold versus the previous year
As per Order of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Development of Russia No. 277n dated 27.05.2009, as of May 2009 Roszdravnadzor monthly monitors the prices and the available range of drugs in inpatient prevention & treatment facilities and pharmacies.
At the end of 2016, retail prices in the outpatient segment rose by 1.4% (against an 8.8% increase in 2015), which is much lower than the official inflation rate.
In 2016, retail prices in the price category of up to 50 rubles rose by 1.6% (against a 16% increase in 2015).
At the end of 2016, the rate of rise in purchase (wholesale) prices was 1.9% (against a 10.1% increase in 2015).
At the end of 2016, the rate of rise in actual sale prices of manufacturers was 1.6% (against an 8.9% increase in 2015).
Purchase prices for VED in the hospital segment grew as of the end of 2016 by 4.4% (against an 8.9% increase in 2015).
Yet, retail prices for drugs not put on the VED list rose in 2016 by 7.4% (19.5% in 2015), specifically, in the following price categories:
– up to 50 rubles: by 18.6% (35.3% in 2015);
– from 50 to 500 rubles: by 8.6% (22.9% in 2015);
– above 500 rubles: by 4.3% (11.6% in 2015).
