Preface

The statistical compendium contains information characterizes the state of health in the Russian Federation in 2016 in comparison with the number of previous years. The collection has been published since 2001, once every two years.

In preparation of the collection the data received by the bodies of gift statistics from legal persons, the population by means of federal statistical observation, sample surveys and other forms of statistical observation are used, Data of the ministries and departments of the Russian Federation.

The collection publishes information on medical and demographic aspects of health of the population and its separate socio-demographic groups, the organization of medical and preventive care and sanatorium-resort treatment of the population, as well as the state of the labour market In health care, production of medical supplies, consumer market of goods and services of health care. The information on the state of environment and sanitary-epidemiological control is given. Methodological explanations are placed at the beginning of each section.

Statistical information on the state of health in the Russian Federation in general and on subjects of the Russian Federation is presented mainly for
2005, 2010, 2013-2016 years. The information for other years was published in the collections issued in 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015.

Statistical information in the context of the subjects of the Russian Federation is allocated in a separate electronic application.

The statistical collection “Healthcare in Russia” is published in electronic form in the subsection “Publications” of the section “Official statistics” on the official Internet portal Rosstat (http://www.gks.ru).
