Roszdravnadzor and Iran – MoU

A memorandum of understanding on co-operation in the area of medicines and medical devices between the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare and the Iranian Food and Drug Control Organisation is signed at a meeting of Russian Health Minister Veronica Skvortsov with Iranian Health and Medical Education Minister Hasan Hashemi.

3Mikhail Murashko, Director of the Federal Service for Supervision in Health Care (Roszdravnadzor), took part in a meeting of Russian Health Minister Veronica Skvortsov with Iranian Health and Medical Education Minister Hasan Hashemi.

The sides signed at the meeting a Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Service for Supervision in Health Care (Russian Federation) and the Food and Drug Control Organisation of the Islamic Republic of Iran on co-operation in the area of medicines and medical devices.

The document was drafted on the initiative of Roszdravnadzor within the framework of the Russian-Iranian Working Group on Health and intended to promote regulatory dialogue for the purpose of developing co-operation on control of the quality, effectiveness, and safety of medical products.4

The Memorandum suggests exchange of information about regulatory issues, the circulation of medical products, laboratory and expert control, and post-registration monitoring of the safety and effectiveness of medicines and medical devices.

Much importance is attributed to the operation of the expert group on control of medicines and regulation of the circulation of medical devices. The sides will develop an appropriate plan for implementing the memorandum.
